Hi, I’m Aileen!

I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist, and mom to two girls. I have 12+ years experience in building and promoting speech, language, play, social-emotional and literacy skills in children ages 0-21. I have worked with children of varying ability levels to help them achieve their full potential as effective and efficient communicators.

I started How to Tell a Story as a way to share ideas with parents to promote speech and language development naturally with their children. I am a strong believer that teaching in context is everything. By context, I mean by talking, reading and playing.

I chose the name How to Tell a Story because I believe the universal goal of communication is connection. There is no better way in achieving connection than being able to share a story with a friend. However, there are many underlying skills that need to line up in order to connect over a personal narrative.

I’m here to share my knowledge and skills to empower you as your child’s first, and best, teacher!
